Is BladeTape Any Good: My First Time

My buddy Miles Winter had an idea: All this talk about BladeTape, is it any good? Well he tried it. Here's his story...

Is BladeTape Any Good?

It started one practice. My dad bought the BladeTape from the link on this site and thought it might be a good idea to try. I've never tried BladeTape before. None of my friends use it either. I tape my stick literally every practice and every game. And the tape always rips, gets marked up, never looks fresh and always needs attention. My dad complains about the price of stick tape and how much I use.

C'MON, IT'S FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

But I'm all about trying new things (except turnips. Nope.) So why not right? Well that's what I thought, so here we are.

First of all, let me get one thing straight... taping a hockey stick is an art. Putting on BladeTape was so easy I could do it in my sleep. Peel, slap, done. On to the next thing.

First practice my eyes were glued to my stick. It looks so much cleaner, it's weird. I didn't think I'd like the look. But deep down in my soul I couldn't help but think it looks super sharp. I got the 2 Pack Player BladeTape Black. Kinda want to try a custom BladeTape order now, design it myself and make it look super sty.

ANYWAYS.... My eyes were glued, and funny thing was, so was the puck. It was so much better, so much more control that after 5 minutes of fumbling the puck around it started to feel natural, almost as if it was supposed to be this way.

And that natural feeling is why I can't get enough of it. My shots were more controlled, my forehand, my backhand, it didn't matter. All better.

So naturally I wanted to try it in a game.

I think everybody has a different story, but mine was all about how much better passing the puck was for me. Shots, I didn't really tell much of a difference. But passing and puck handling was like I had loaded up my stick tape with wax and glue, and it let go exactly when I wanted it to. Crazy sauce action too.

I scored a goal, got 3 assists, and loaded up my confidence knowing the next game will feel exactly like this one.

A week and a half, two games and four practices later, this is what it looks like.

BladeTape two weeks in

Way better than tape. End of story.
