How to Juggle Like a Boss

Ok so here we go. Want to learn how to juggle, huh? Well, buckle up because you're about to become the coolest guy or gal on the block. Spoiler alert: juggling is way easier than doing your math homework. Plus, it's actually fun! 🥳

how to juggle

Step 1: Master the Art of Two Balls (A.K.A. Don’t Hit Yourself in the Face)

Alright, so before we go all "Cirque du Soleil" with three balls, let’s start with two. Trust me, even pros had to start here.

What You’ll Need:

  • Two balls (duh). You can use tennis balls, rolled-up socks, or whatever you can find that won’t break a window if you miss.

  • A bit of patience. Yeah, you’re gonna drop them. A lot. But who cares? No one gets it perfect on the first try.

The Basics:

  1. Hold a ball in each hand.

  2. Toss one ball in the air, aiming to get it up to about eye level. Not too high, or you might lose it in a light fixture. (Been there!)

  3. As that first ball starts to come down, toss the second ball up with your other hand.

  4. Catch the first ball, then catch the second. Boom! You just juggled two balls like a champ. 1-2. 1-2. 1-2. Now you're getting it.

Repeat this over and over until your muscle memory kicks in. It might feel like you’re just doing a fancy version of hot potato, but trust me, you’re getting closer!

Step 2: Welcome to the Three-Ball Circus 🎪

Alright, now that you’re the master of two balls, it’s time to add the third. This is where things get real.

Grab a Third Ball: Now, holding three balls is gonna feel a bit like juggling and a bit like you’re trying to carry all your snacks from the kitchen at once. Hey, I didn't say this was going to be easy.

How to Do It:

  1. Start with two balls in your dominant hand (the one you write with) and one ball in the other.

  2. Throw one ball from your dominant hand up into the air (eye level again, unless you want it to end up on the roof).

  3. As that ball is coming down, throw the ball from your other hand up in the air. Then quickly toss the last ball from your dominant hand.

  4. Keep catching and throwing in this pattern. It’s like a never-ending cycle of throwing and catching. You’ll drop them a few times, but that’s cool—just pick 'em up and keep going. Remember, even the pros dropped their balls a million times before they got it right!

Step 3: Juggling in Goalie Gear (Because Why Not?)

Now, if you’re like me and love hockey (or just want to look like a boss), why not juggle in your goalie gear? There is no better way to work your hand-eye coordination as part of your pre-game warmup, and does it ever work good to get into your opponents heads.

Keep juggling and keep being awesome! ✌️
